About the Club
Welcome to Hull and District Canoe Club!
Hull and District Canoe Club is based in the East Riding of Yorkshire and has been going strong since 1973. We are a large and active club with over 100 members of all ages and abilities. We currently hold Top Club status awarded by the British Canoe Union and East Riding Council Club Accreditation Level 3. In March 2008 we were named as the top sports club in East Yorkshire by East Riding Council at the annual Sport & Play Recognition Awards.
The club caters for many different paddling disciplines. We offer full training via our coaches through the British Canoe Union Star Tests and Humber Coaching Awards. A full calendar of events is available throughout the year providing activities for all levels of ability. As we have many family members we also have social events to cater for non-paddling members too.
We have several successful canoe polo teams with training sessions several times a week. Many of our members enjoy sea kayaking with regular trips and an annual sea expedition around the Scottish Islands. The club also has a thriving white water scene with regular grade III-V river trips. Several recent international White Water trips organised by club members include: Nepal, France (Alps), Turkey and Ireland.
The club meets most Saturday mornings at it’s base in North Cave, we have access to a lake and own a large fleet of open canoes and kayaks in a variety of sizes that are all available for members use - so you can try before you buy. If you are interested in joining the club please visit our “How to Join” page. We are always on the lookout for new members.
